Richard Dwight Kopp is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Graphics Technology for Purdue University at New Albany. He earned a B.A. from Indiana University Southeast and a M.F.A. from the University of Delaware. Prior to joining the faculty Richard was a publishing manager at Voluforms Inc. Jeffersonville, Indiana. His current interests are in computer illustration and interactive media.
Professor Kopp has been teaching for Purdue since 1994 and since 2001 he has been the Director of the College of Technology at New Albany. He has extensive industry experience in computer illustration and design. In 1996, he was selected for the Non-tenured Outstanding Faculty Award in the Computer Graphics Technology Department and has won professional awards for his computer based artwork. Richard is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques and a past president of the Society of Technical Communication's local Kentuckiana chapter. He has presented papers at national conferences and was a session coordinator for the "Electronic Imaging for Artists" at the 1996 Mid America Print Council Conference.
