Nowhere in the world of sports is the true meaning of loyalty as evident than in the hearts of Chicago Cubs fans everywhere. Not just anyone can be a Cubs fan; no, it takes something special to gain that right. There's some unwritten code that says "Any fan of these Chicago Cubs must stay positive, never give up, and always look forward to better luck in the next season." Being a fan of the Cubbies is not easy and also not for the lighthearted. Blowing late-season games and falling out of playoff contention has led them to become known as the "Loveable Losers," but that's not it at all. Losers quit when times get rough. And as anyone can see, it's been nearly a half-century with no pennant, and twice as long since the Chicago team from the National League brought home the Series crown. But still, year in and year out, the team gives it their all, always providing fans a reason to cheer and spend a fun-filled afternoon of baseball at beautiful Wrigley Field.
